Background

Matt qualified as a dentist at Guy's Dental Hospital in 1998, obtaining a BDS degree with Distinction. He received his membership to the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2001 before going on to complete a three-year, full-time specialist orthodontic training programme at The Royal London Hospital. He obtained an MSc degree in Orthodontics from the University of London and completed his Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2005. He undertook a further two years of higher specialist training at the Eastman Dental Institute and was awarded the Fellowship in Dental Surgery (Orthodontics) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2008.

Skills

Matt, who is on the specialist register for Orthodontics at the General Dental Council, is also a consultant orthodontist based in a London hospital. He has published scientific papers and is an examiner at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Hobbies

Dr Chia enjoys cycling and surfing in Cornwall with his four energetic young children.
