If you would love straighter teeth then it could be time to join the thousands of people in the UK who benefit each year from cosmetic dentistry - one of the three distinct types of dentistry within the profession.

COSMETIC BRACES MEANING

Preventative dentistry…

… helps people to keep a good level of oral health so that treatments such as cavity fillings can be avoided in the future.

It includes check-ups with the dentist and deep cleans from the hygienist as well as advice about the best ways to brush and floss your teeth to try to keep dental problems at bay.

Restorative dentistry…

… diagnoses and deals with problems such as tooth decay, gum disease, chips and cracks and issues that result from accidents or illnesses.

Treatments such as fillings and crowns ensure that damaged teeth function properly.

Cosmetic dentistry…

… deals with improving the appearance of the smile.

This includes improving the alignment, the colour, the shape and the size of the teeth.

Cosmetic treatments include veneers and whitening… and cosmetic braces to straighten the teeth.

WHAT ARE COSMETIC BRACES?

In years gone by, metal “train track” orthodontic braces were the only option available.

Nowadays, there are a variety of modern, cosmetic braces, which very gradually apply pressure to move your teeth into the correct position.

The subtle design of cosmetic braces - some of which are almost invisible - mean there is no longer any need for adults to feel self-conscious about wearing them.

Modern fixed braces continue to use brackets fixed with wires that attach to your teeth.

But these days, much smaller, more subtle metal brackets – or, in some cases, clear ceramic brackets together with clear wires, make them much less noticeable.

Fixed “lingual braces” are fitted behind the teeth, which makes them even more unobtrusive.

With all these types of fixed braces, you could start to enjoy straighter teeth in months.

Removable braces, such as Invisalign®, clear plastic aligners, are also available.

Invisalign® aligners are made to fit exactly over your teeth and can barely be seen.

They are worn for most of the day and night but can be removed for eating and brushing your teeth.

Straighter smile

Many people wrongly believe that it’s only possible to realign the teeth while they are still growing, but fixing your smile as an adult is much easier than you might think.

Whatever your concerns or particular needs, Wytes London can help to make you feel confident with a more attractive, straighter smile.
